Do You See the Gold?

The moment catcher notices the shiny spec of gold in the middle of the dirt. It’s easy to find the dirt of the day. Most headlines are filled with the latest scandal or fall from grace. Reasons why life is so depressing or more list of what to fear. The world has always been beautiful, filled with wonder and handpicked with humanity. God is creative and He created life on purpose, with a purpose. It is our own words of fear, whether contemplated from our own hearts or regurgitated from what we have heard, that fog up our view of the beauty that has always been right in front of us.

The Smog-Fog

However, there is something interesting about the dirt, it covers up or buries something. The smog-fog, as I call it, can be cleared to see. Almost always it is reveals something beautiful. If you dare to look you can find the glimmer beneath the smog of the day and discover someone beautiful. She’s always been in front of you. He has always been standing in your mind’s eye.

The Passerby and the Moment Catcher

So here is a tale of two people, the Passerby and the Moment Catcher. Each morning we are faced with the same day. He wakes us up with his to-do list and responsibilities. All good things, right? OFF we go! All we are promised is TODAY. Who will you be, the Passerby, the one who is too busy to stop and look through the smog-fog. Or will you be the Moment Catcher, the one who scraps their plans and dives into the dirt to catch the glimmer of treasure? I choose to be the Moment Catcher. So, join me each week with the camera of your soul, on the journey of catching the moment. Let’s get a snapshot of the treasure that is all around us. Each week I will post the treasure that I find.
